What are we looking for?

The Manufacturing Quality Systems Lead contributes actively to it, implementing and maintaining food safety standards, quality policies at the regional level and ensure compliance with Mars, FSMA, GFSI, and customer requirements. This role performs QMS audits within the region and identifies gaps and best practices across the region and supports the factories through training.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Deploy and govern the required Mars quality standards, ISO and FSSC standards in each of the manufacturing units in North America by coordinating the design, implementation, training and monitoring systems necessary to meet the applicable Mars and third-party certification body requirements.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of the Quality Systems in the manufacturing units through standardization of current procedures and ongoing training necessary to solidify the system with all associates.
  • Coordinate the communication and implementation of new Mars Standards in North America factories
  • Review and maintain T6 Compliance documentation with the manufacturing sites and maintain up to date compliance data for KPI reporting to the Region and Global
  • Lead and manage the internal audit program in the region for the manufacturing units. Plan, schedule and coordinate the internal audits with the manufacturing units.
  • Maintain a pool of competent internal auditors through training and coaching against the Mars Standards and international standards.
  • Track/Report key metrics for manufacturing sites/region and interpret trends and escalate concerns
  • Support in the MRA meetings to provide input into the adequacy of the raw material supplier controls and the Mars HACCP Controls.
  • Act as Regional lead for third party contracts

Context and Scope

The role will support the region in Q&FS matters all in quality processes and requirements:

Requires a strong knowledge on Quality and Food Safety, and best practices, giving the necessary credibility to convince and persuade local teams to align to the strategy and to deploy it instead of imposing it. In order to engage new teams in a quality management system to reach our 2025 TQM objective, this job requires highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, to lead audits, support and advise on the deployment of Standards across all Royal Canin Manufacturing Sites In the North American Region It requires being oriented on quality management and continuous improvement, very open-minded and conceptual minded to solve issues and find adapted solutions. Frequent travels are necessary to conduct the mission (30-50 %).

Education & Professional Qualifications

Career Professional specializing in food manufacturing - specifically strong functional capability In manufacturing quality

B.S. degree In Chemistry, Biology, Food Science and/or similar field

A strong experience of auditing (internal and external) is required, an external auditing certification is an advantage

Knowledge of RC standards, procedures and governance rules

Minimum of 3 to 5 years in QFS Management

Knowledge / Experience

Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships Internal and External partners

Organization & Time management skills

Leadership & Influencing skills

A fluent English (reading, writing and speaking)

Experience working with the Standards 9001/22000/17025/18001
