Job Title

Corporate compliance/safety manager


Harris Farms Inc. Coalinga, CA.

Position Description

The core responsibility of the Compliance / Safety Manager for Harris Farms corporate division is to ensure that the company is meeting the requirements of Local, State, and Federal regulatory requirements while providing internal compliance support to our multiple business divisions; encompassing farming, citrus, thoroughbred breeding/racing, garlic/onion, and hospitality. This position requires a combination of inside deskwork and outside field application/verification/auditing of actual practices. Position reports to the CEO. This position requires interaction, coordination, and communication with all levels, of management and employees. The successful individual must be a self-starter with comprehensive experience and demonstrated knowledge in various state and regulatory agencies. The candidate needs to be comfortable preparing and leading individual and group training sessions as well as addressing potential non-compliant behaviors. This position will require strong organizational effectiveness in challenging and diverse work environments.


  • Bachelorís degree in Occupational Health and Safety or similar field preferred
  • Certifications preferred; CSP, ASP and / or CCP preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in compliance/safety roles.
  • Ability to foster an environment that supports reporting of all health and safety concerns
  • Experience managing and supporting projects focused on compliance and safety.
  • Bilingual Spanish reading, writing, and speaking are highly desired but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service focus and perspective. Must be well organized, flexible and responsive with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
