All employees receive stock options, medical insurance and paid vacation. We are looking for a Regulatory Food Safety Specialist to join our energetic team in our Aurora facility, Colorado.
The position is responsible for answering external and internal customer inquiries related to Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance needs in a timely fashion. Responsible for working cross-functionally to provide consistent responses to our prospects and customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer inquiries related to Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Regulatory
  • Provide timely responses to customer inquiries with cross-functional partners, i.e. manufacturing plants, Consumer Affairs, Sales, Marketing and R&D.
  • Support Food Safety Lead on internal audits, monthly food safety audits and providing reports of non-conformance.
  • Support internal GMP program efforts such as internal calibration and environmental swabbing
  • Support in internal review of batch records, supplier questionnaire programs, and annual GFSI review processing.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams in reviewing internal and external customer expectations documents.
  • Support managing internal customer databases Zen Desk, Data Ninja and Sales Force.
  • Work with customers to collect and maintain regulatory letters on an annual and quarterly basis
  • Handle requests for 3rd party audits, compliance sign-offs, and surveys from all new Co-manufacturer and Suppliers
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings to ensure internal alignment on customer responses
  • Support maintaining Kosher, Hallal, Organic, Non-GMO process to ensure proper documentation for finished products.
  • Provide support of internal GMP of CFR 21:110, HACCP and BRC GFSI food safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Science Degree in Microbiology, Food Science or related field required
  • One to five years’ experience in food safety, regulatory and/or quality with food products required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with external and internal customers
  • Knowledge of food safety principles and food processing preferred
  • HACCP and SQF or BRC Certified preferred
  • Knowledge of Regulatory and Food Law preferred
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must enjoy the pace of entrepreneurial companies.

Please Read: We are looking for people with scientific backgrounds that understand the regulatory requirements of large food companies. We will not consider engineers, chefs, waiters, programmers or other resumes that do not fit this criteria.
