Research Technician II

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

The Research Technician II will perform food processing equipment cleaning tests in a pilot plant facility under instruction of faculty member.  They may also provide guidance to temporary undergraduate assistants. Duties include:

 

 

  • Conduct hygienic equipment design testing according to ISO 17025 established procedures and quality manual under limited supervision.
  • Keep records of equipment calibrations, test results, laboratory procedures, and internal audits according to an ISO 17025 quality system.
  • Perform routine tasks such as microbiological media preparation, laboratory maintenance, and equipment cleaning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide leadership for a program of activities that meets the needs of all eligible clientele regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, religion or veteran status.



 

Qualifications

 

Minimum/Required Qualifications (include education, experience, skills & abilities, licenses & certifications):

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years’ experience. 
  • Basic knowledge in operation, design, manufacturing, or repair of food processing equipment (e.g. pumps, valves, inline sensors, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel
