Serve as the primary quality resource at the manufacturing facility.  Establishes and manages the plant food safety and quality agendas.  Ensures that products are produced to specification to meet safety, quality and regulatory requirements via system implementation, training and auditing.  Leads plant investigations to determine root cause and recommends corrective actions associated with quality and food safety situations.  Serves as Quality Management Representative for the BRC and other quality related audits.  Ensures sanitation programs are maintained that follow all regulatory and corporate policies.  Provides technical support in functional areas of responsibility on commercialization and productivity improvement projects.

Describe in order of importance the essential functions of the position.


1.  Responsible for direction, implementation and maintenance of facility quality, sanitation and pest control programs.


2.  Provide leadership and technical assistance to plant operations in the areas of food safety, regulatory compliance and FCC policy.


3.  Ensure that all records, procedures, processing and packaging equipment are in compliance and consistent with the plantís business system.


4.  Serve as the Quality Management Representative and drive the internal auditing, corrective action and preventive action programs.


5.  Act as liaison between facility and corporate for all food safety and quality issues or needs.


6.  Key contact for FDA or regulatory visitors and issues.  Responsible for leading BRC and other quality related audits.


7.  Maintain and track quality department fixed and variable budgets.


8.  Support development and growth of direct reports in all areas of the quality function.


9.  Direct employee involvement for production quality issues through to resolution.


10. Oversee the Housekeeping/Sanitation Department.


11. Other related duties as assigned
