Direct responsibility for inspection and quality control/quality assurance
activities to meet specifications and quality standards for a variety of
in-process and finished products. Provide leadership on safety and core
values within the function and throughout the site. Must be a visible
presence in and around the factories.
- Perform daily inspections at
the plants to ensure the areas are maintained cleaned to ensure GMP’s
are being met.
- Be vigilant in all the
departments to insure issues of concern are addressed proactively.
- Conduct routine and
non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials,
environmental samples, finished goods, or stability samples.
- Compile laboratory test data
and perform appropriate analyses.
- Complete documentation needed
to support testing procedures including data capture forms, equipment
logbooks, or inventory forms.
- Evaluate analytical methods
and procedures to determine how they might be improved.
- Identify quality problems and
- Interpret test results,
compare them to established specifications and control limits, and
make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release.
- Investigate or report
questionable test results.
- Monitor testing procedures to
ensure that all tests are performed according to established item
specifications, standard test methods, or protocols.
- Participate in
out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend
- Perform validations or
transfers of analytical methods in accordance with applicable policies
- Prepare or review required
method transfer documentation including technical transfer protocols
- Review data from contract
laboratories to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Supply quality control data
necessary for regulatory submissions.
- Coordinate testing with
contract laboratories and vendors.
- Ensure that lab cleanliness
and safety standards are maintained.
- Evaluate new technologies and
methods to make recommendations regarding their use.
- Participate in internal
assessments and audits as required.
- Perform visual inspections of
- Serve as a technical liaison
between quality control and other departments, vendors, or

food safety and customer satisfaction.
- Set departmental policy and
procedures, establish and maintain the site quality control system and
maintain site SQF and HACCP plans.
- Determine types of test to be
performed as well as documentation and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all
regulatory agency standards.
- Interact regularly with
engineering, manufacturing, and service functions to establish quality
standards for raw material, work in process and finished products.
- Disposition ingredients,
materials and finished product.
- Champion Quality, GMP
compliance and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate the quality
function's operations and programs with those of the site.
- Ensure the GMP, food safety
and sanitation training of all site employees.
- Manage the timely investigation
of and response to assigned customer inquiries.
- Other duties as deemed
Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university) - Must have a Science
Degree (Ex: Food Science, Biology, Micro Biology, Chemistry, etc.)
Must have a minimum of 10 years food industry experience including
MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, QA Software Systems.
Certificates & Licenses:
SQF and HACCP certified required. HACCP ADV,
Continuation of SQF and HACCP classes as needed for update purposes.
