What We Are Looking For: We’re looking for Food Safety Specialist to help shepherd and build continuous improvement for our facilities food safety programs. This position will require someone who has good attention to detail has a strong sense of urgency when it comes to responding to risk involving food. This position will mainly focus on driving sanitation procedures through out the facility which includes but not limited to cleaning the kitchen/packing drains, sweeping in high risk areas, setting up hairnets, setting up sanitizers, monitoring chemicals in the hand wash stations and applying chemicals in high-risk areas. A suitable candidate would have been with the company for more than 6 months has a passion on implanting and teaching food safety to other associates’.


 About The Role

Reporting directly to the Food Safety Manager, this role will:

  • Be responsible for executing food safety sanitation initiatives, cleaning and washing down of equipment and environment
  • Monitor hand wash station chemicals, hairnet box count and sanitizer placement
  • Take periodic environmental pathogen samples and ship them out to 3rd party testers.
  • Assist in training associates on food safety policies and procedure.
  • Audit kitchen, pack, shipping and receiving areas to make sure GMP policies are being followed.
  • Recognize food risk areas and planning on ways to fix the problems
  • Audit and monitor pest control traps
  • Assist in developing sanitation SSOPS
  • Coordinate with the quality department to make sure received product is received and stored safely for human consumption.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be willing and able to work in a refrigerated environment (10°-40°)
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be willing and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach with or without reasonable accommodation
