Description and Responsibilities:

The primary focus will be on oversight and management of Quality Initiatives and Special Projects within the BU, focusing on Food Safety.

 

The position reports directly to the Dairy & Culinary Quality Assurance Director.

 

Accountabilities 

  • Manage Quality Initiatives and special projects within BU as assigned.. Projects may include:
  • Provide quality oversight and support for selected co-packers and suppliers (e.g. “agency” business, animal nutrition)
  • Coordinate co-packer/ 3rd party warehouse audits performed by plant QATMs.  Perform audits as needed.
  • Assist manufacturing plants with investigations into product issues and production failures as needed.
  • Support other initiatives as needed
    • Kerry Global HACCP Standard
    • Product Protection/ Foreign Material Control
    • Allergen Control Programs
    • Environmental Monitoring Programs
    • Positive Release Programs

 

Authority

 

  • The position has the authority to observe and review quality activities in all Dairy & Culinary operations, R&D sensory activities and suppliers to Kerry with proper notification to senior management of each.
  • The position has the authority to develop, implement and audit programs directly related to assigned projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Qualified background in food chemistry, sensory, microbiology, food packaging systems and/or food engineering
  • 7-10 years Quality, R&D and/or Production Management experience in food industry.
  • ASQ Quality Engineer certification or equivalent.  Candidates may pursue this certification concurrently.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and change management initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Organized
  • Proficient at Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Must have strong critical thinking ability along with analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong Interpersonal, communication, coaching and conflict management skills
  • Ability to travel

 

Practical experience with the following:

 

  • Quality Systems, HACCP, SOPS, GMPs.
  • Writing and implementing quality policies and procedures
  • Cheese and dairy manufacturing
  • Sensory programs
