Food Quality Assurance Manager
Integrated Resource Solutions - Petoskey, MI

 

Directs and coordinates food safety, food quality, labeling compliance, Kosher certification, Organic certification, recipe standards, non-food standards and specifications and record keeping maintenance for these activities in a manner that meets and/or exceeds the business plan. Responsible for the overall quality control/assurance for this growing company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Food Manufacturing and Storage: Developing, writing, publishing and maintaining good manufacturing practices (GMPís) that are consistent with the FDA recommendations and appropriate for operation and products.

Vendor Supplied Items: Work with the Purchasing and Distribution Team to develop, write, publish and maintain good manufacturing practices that are consistent with the FDA recommendations and appropriate for KQCís operation and products as it relates to vendor supplied items.

Establish and maintain a system for ensuring accuracy and reproducibility in our nutritional database and product labeling, including, but not limited to:

Developing, writing, publishing and maintaining procedures for designing, storing master files for, and production printing of product data labels.

Developing a system for routine auditing and review of nutritional information on a product-by-product basis.

Developing, administering, and maintaining a system for training on the above product labeling system, including record keeping.

Establish and maintain a system for ensuring lot traceability, including but not limited to:

Developing, writing and publishing protocols and procedures for documenting and storing ingredient and finished product lot information.

Researching and making recommendations for IT systems enhancements that will result in a more accurate complete and streamlined process for collecting and keeping lot traceability information.

Developing, administering and maintaining a system for training on the above lot traceability protocols and procedures, including record keeping.

Developing, administering and maintaining a system for validating and verifying the lot traceability system, including conducting mock product recall drills.

Establish and maintain a food quality system, including but not limited to:

Developing, writing, publishing and maintaining a system for routing auditing and review of recipe standards, including product testing and record keeping.

Developing, writing, and administering a system for flagging, documenting, analyzing, and corrective action for significant variances to recipe and purchased items standards.

Develop, write, and administer a system for flagging, documenting, analyzing, and corrective action for quality issues with manufactured and vendor supplied items, both internal and reported to us by the retail stores and retail customers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelorís Degree in Food Manufacturing Engineering, Microbiology, Quality Control or equivalent experience.

Five yearsí experience in a food manufacturing environment.

HACCP certification preferred.
