Cargill Kitchen Solutions, formerly Sunny Fresh Foods, is a leading marketer of high value, further-processed egg products in the United States. With processing plants in Minnesota, Iowa and Michigan, our customers include premier quick-service restaurant chains as well as food manufacturers.

 

In 1999, Cargill Kitchen Solutions became the first food company in the United States to receive the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. In 2005, we received the Malcolm Baldrige award for the second time.

 

Under limited supervision, the Associate Food Scientist will focus on the development of prototypes and new products and will require an innovative approach to product development.  This position will support and assist the R&D Food Scientists and Culinary Professionals.  This position will also be responsible for the creation of both bench top and scale-up production of samples for internal, customer, and consumer tests. Responsibilities include formulation, pilot plant testing, scale-up support, sensory/nutritional/label support and documentation of experiments. This position will support a wide range of project activities including new products, line extensions, and product improvements all pertaining to Cargill Kitchen Solutions and our customers.

 

The successful candidate will have a passion for product development. This position requires great interpersonal skills and self-initiative. The position will require occasional travel.

         10% Sensory Support

Relocation will not be provided for this position.

Qualifications

 

Required:

         Bachelorís degree in food science or related field

         Background in scientific procedures and project management skills

         Basic data analysis and design of experiment knowledge

         Good oral and written communication and presentation skills

         Basic understanding of IP

Preferred:

         2+ years in R&D, Operations, or Quality food industry experience

         Sensory experience
