POSITION TITLE:  Food Technologist             

SALARY GRADE:  SG 3

DIVISION: Biscuit COE, East Hanover Tech Center       

FUNCTION/DEPARTMENT: RD&Q, Global Product Platforms

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manages Research and Development Lab

o   Maintains a clean, safe, and well-organized lab

o   Ensures that the inventory for key ingredients and supplies is sufficient

  • Provides technical support to product developers and process engineers in executing experiments in the pilot plant and in the lab

o   Assists with pilot plant trials as needed and in evaluating products in the lab

o   Prepares bench-top prototypes in support of product  and process development

o   Demonstrates the ability to work with others to gain understanding and cooperation

o   Achieves results on projects or tasks with minimal supervision

 

·         Performs routine analytical tests using standard methods

o   Operates and maintains lab and/or pilot plant equipment safely

o   Trains others when needed on operating equipment or analytical methods

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION LEVEL: 

 

HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE

VOC/TECH DEGREE (2 YR)

BACHELOR’S DEGREE (4 YR)

Major: Math, Science Operations Mgmt

 

 

EXPERIENCE:.

 

FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

MINIMUM 4 Years

1.  Work Experience in a technical environment

2.  Good computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint)

3.  General mechanical abilities

4.  Ability to enforce lab safety and cleanliness guidelines

5.  Ability to operate and maintain equipment safely

6.  Good communication skills
