Requirements:  BS Food Science or related plus a minimum of five years food product development.  Specific requirements include:
1. Ability to manage new and multiple projects from concept through commercialization.
2. Baking experience.
3. Strong knowledge of ingredient functionality and interactions.
4. USDA, FDA, Kosher, Organic, Non-GMO, and Natural Products experience (including compliance with US and International Standards).
5. Solid knowledge of Food Safety and HACCP processes.
6. Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills within a team environment.
7. Ability to use existing resources to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
8. Ability to interpret statistics and research data.
9. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities:  Individual will be responsible for building a solid pipeline of new products or platforms that are aligned with the company’s growth strategies. Specific responsibilities include:
1. Hands on management of new product development from concept through commercialization using Stage Gate methodology.
2.  Manage the evaluation of existing products to identify opportunities for product improvement or cost efficiencies.
3. Oversee all aspects of label design, including compliance validating nutritional assumptions, ingredient statements and food safety risks, allergen declarations, and generic labeling for all products. Oversee compliance and technical documents. Responsible for producing and verifying Ingredients Statements and Nutritional information for each product as required.
4. Generate manufacturing specifications including submission of  new or updated information to cost accounting.
5. Collaborate with QA to ensure quality and safety standards are met during commercial expansion plan.
6. Develop and verify customer specifications including shelf life and handling procedures.
7. Work closely with purchasing and quality assurance to consolidate the use of existing raw materials to optimize costs. Collaborate with the evaluation of new ingredients and suppliers.
8. Attend classes/seminars to improve technical skills and industry knowledge.
