QA Food Safety Assoc - Pre Op Auditor - Massillon, OH
This position is primarily responsible for inspecting the cleanliness of
the sanitation crew from a quality standpoint. The principle
objective is to observe and audit the cleaning processes of and verify
that our various requirements are being met.
- Participate/support the RMP
(Risk Management Process) and assist in the development of the
system and operational standards and corrective actions.
- Inspecting the factory
nightly for cleaning deviations, document issues with pictures, work
orders, emails, etc. and follow-up.
- Work with the
Microbiologist and other departments to investigate and solve micro
- Be proactive in our
approach to microbiology and food safety.
- Work together to provide
Sanitation Scorecard (KPI) for the sanitation department.
- Work with the shift leader
or employee if re-cleaning is necessary.
- Re-inspect equipment after
re-cleaning is complete and document.
- Collect and analyze ATP
swabs, make decisions and take corrective action based on these
- Work with the USDA
Inspector to ensure compliance.
- Must complete and maintain
all legal documents SSOP, Pre-op, etc.
- Track, trend and report on
ATP data. Look for trends, recommend and implement corrective
and preventative actions.
- Collect other bacterial
swabs including supporting LEM and SEM programs.
- Training and Safety –
Provide a safe and healthful work environment for all personnel
through consistent support of the company’s Heinz Safety
Process. Oversee safety processes including, but not limited
to, goal setting, hazard recognition, and elimination,
administration of safety procedures and corresponding corrective
action, area inspection, job skills, and compliance training,
accident investigation and safety meetings.
- Interprets company policies
to workers and enforces policies and safety regulations.
- Must be able to work
flexible hours; days, afternoons, midnights, overtime and weekends
- Conduct facility audits
(GMP, Glass and Brittle Plastic, etc.).
- As necessary, other duties
and/or projects may be assigned.
- High School diploma, prefer
Associate Degree, and 3 – 6 months related training or experience.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Must have excellent computer
skills including Word; Excel; PowerPoint, etc.
- Must have good typing
- Knowledge of microbiology.
- Knowledge of GMP’s, HACCP
and other quality/sanitation policies/practices.
- Must have good math skills
and the ability to add, subtract, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Must have the ability to
read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos.
- Must be able to apply
common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in
written; oral or diagram form.
- Ability to write routine
reports and correspondence.
- Ability to trouble shoot and recognize mechanical problems.
- Ability to understand
microbiological sanitation to ensure product food safety.
- Must have good reading and
- Demonstrate reliability and
good work ethics, quality work performance, attention to detail is a
must, and maintain a good working relationship with all other departments.
- Must be able to work
independently with little supervision.
- Ability to multitask and
work in a team oriented fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal,
and organizational skills and must be detail and process oriented.
- Willingness to grow with
- Must have the ability to
exercise considerable judgment and be able to identify and solve
- Incumbent must have

- Must be able to work any
shift and overtime as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch

to reach, handle, or feel objects, tools or
- Ability to work in all
areas of the facility including hot and cold areas, and be exposed
to wet and humid conditions.
- Must be able to lift and or
move up to 50 lbs or more.
- Must have excellent vision,
distant and peripheral, with the ability to identify and distinguish
colors, and adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work
environment is usually high, and ear protection is required.

mechanical parts, high and/or confining places and in outside
