Quality Assurance Regulatory Specialist

Etai's Food is a local, family owned company with a food production plant that prepares ready-to-eat products and catering. We are seeking a Quality Assurance Regulatory Specialist. This position will perform a variety of nutrition, labeling and regulatory projects to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Handling product setup and changes to existing products (finished goods, packaging, ingredients, and new product development). Verifying that all meet established specifications and standards
  • Review and approve packaging for regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and maintain accurate food labeling information for finished products compliant with FDA and USDA regulations.
  • Conduct Regulatory Reviews, both ingredient and recipe, for products produced
  • Reviews specifications as necessary to ensure vendor accuracy.
  • Completion of product specification per customer requirement
  • Verifying ingredient specifications including storage and shelf life requirements are current
  • Handling nutrition and ingredient specifications, ingredient surveys and other special needs, verify nutrition information making sure all ingredients and allergens are entered into ChefTec and Genesis correctly.
  • Assisting with any GMP internal audits, food safety audits, monthly audits, weekly metal detection checks, food security inspections and other inspections.

Qualifications:

  • 4 year degree; Food Science or other life science field
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a food or nutrition related-industry required. Labeling or regulatory experience a plus.
  • Solid background with nutritionals and the respective software. We use ChefTec and Genesis.
  • Working knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and HACCP
  • Strong administrative skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Adaptability to learn various internal and external software programs.
  • Proficient using Excel, Word, Outlook
  • SQF background/knowledge preferred
