Ensure all audit records meet or exceed regulatory and customer's requirements. Review and monitor all records pertaining to audits i.e. HACCP, GMPs, Metal Detector, Lot Control etc. Ensure that records to monitor incoming raw materials for HQ and customer's requirements ensuring that COAs are maintained and on file. Keep Ontario management abreast of any non-compliance issues. Ensure weekly and monthly GMP and Food Safety Audits of facility. Communicate audit requirements and training for Operations Managers/Supervisors to comply with all critical customer's requirements, and to ensure HQ QA policy compliance. Maintain audit documents for customers as required. Support food safety and quality programs to ensure Safe Quality Food (SQF). Ensure HQ QA Policy compliance to meet audit standards for regulatory customer and internal requirements. Represent the plant at all first, second and third party audits. Serve as HACCP Coordinator for the plant, manage HACCP team, conduct annual HACCP team training, recording, reporting and program reviews; audit Food Safety & HACCP programs. Provide supervision for QA Auditor staff to include training, approval of payroll hours, mentoring and verifying compliance with company policies and procedures. Ensure Plant personnel, supervisors and QA met audit requirements. Coordinate a multi-disciplinary Food Safety Team that conducts monthly facility audits, and coordinate corrective action plan for each department's non-compliance. Coordinate a multi-disciplinary Food Defense Team that conducts annual facility audits, and coordinate corrective action plan for each department's non-compliance and conduct semi-annual Food Defense Team meetings. Ensure COA's and incoming raw materials and packaging meet specifications; in addition to accurate Kosher compliance. Review submitted specifications to ensure the Ontario plant can meet customer expectations. Perform other duties as assigned by QA Manager.


Position Requirements

Bachelors degree in Food Science, Chemistry or related scientific discipline or equivalent experience. Certified Lead Auditor (ASQ) or ISO Audit Certified. Minimum 5 years auditing and plant experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of basic chemical analysis and testing. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Proven ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment utilizing time management skills to meet aggressive deadlines and make effective decisions. Must have good organization skills to ensure timeliness of reports.
