Job Description



The Judge Group is seeking a degreed Quality Assurance Manager for a large meat manufacturer in Washington State. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for managing and developing  QA programs and activities. He or she must ensure all products are produced within established quality specifications and in compliance with company policies, government regulations, food safety standards, and industry best practices.

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develops specifications and processes for manufacturing and finished goods that assure consistent and ongoing quality of all products
  • Creates and implement quality assurance programs that effectively ensure product manufacturing
  • Ensures company compliance with regulatory SOP, HACCP, GMP, and SQF level 3 standards for customer product and third party audit requirements
  • Manages and verifies compliance of regulatory documentation for program support
  • Manages HACCP assessments and reassessments
  • Manage HACCP records and files maintenance
  • Maintains current library for all SOPs and GMPs
  • Ensures ongoing food safety program improvement via employee training and internal audits
  • Manages inbound and outbound material testing to assure program compliance
  • Assures adherence to sanitation documentation and programs
  • Participates in the development of new products and implementation of all processing changes
  • Assists in handling customer inquiries and complaints pertaining to quality issues

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in food science, microbiology, food process engineering or related
  • Detailed track record and knowledge of successful implementation of food manufacturing quality control standards, practices and techniques
  • Knowledge of food regulatory requirements under USDA
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP
  • Proven ability to write HACCP plans
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • HACCP certification highly preferred
  • SQF Practitioner certification preferred
