Sensory Technician - Arlington, VA

The Role

 

The QA Sensory Technician will be responsible for assisting day to day sensory tasks within the Quality Assurance Department. The primary responsibilities include the following activities: shopping for products for sensory testing, preparing and setting up sensory tests, training sensory panels, and analyzing sensory data. The role offers responsibility, variety, and contributes to the success of the company. The individual will work closely with other internal departments to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

        Provide support to Lidl sensory team on a daily basis

        Shop and purchase products needed for sensory tests

        Prepare for panel tests across all categories, including product labeling, dispensing of samples, session set-up and post-session clean-up

        Prepare products according to cook/make instructions

        Assist in preparations for training of sensory panels

        Oversee inventory and ensure lab supplies are adequate and available at all times

        Run data collection computer software and administer paper ballots

        Assist in analyzing sensory data

        Learn and comply with applicable quality, environment, and safety regulatory guidelines

        Performing additional tasks as required

 

Your Profile

 

Required

        Bachelorís degree in Food Science or related field

        Proven experience working within a food environment

        Possess excellent knowledge of sensory evaluation

        Ability to work independently or as part of a team

        Excellent organizational and time management skills

        Detail oriented and with data management and process skills

        Commercially aware of the value of quality

        Professional demeanor, approach, and appearance

        Microsoft Office proficient
