The Food Safety Specialist will assist the Food Safety Supervisor in establishing and promoting a food safe work environment in all company-wide food safety programs. Additionally, helps maintain a food safe culture that encourages food safety awareness and self responsibility. Assists in company focus on all aspects of food safety. Assists in the Education and training of peers and fellow employees in safety concepts and safe work practices.
About the Role

  • Actively engages workforce to promote a food safe culture of awareness and self-responsibility
  • Under the direction of the food safety supervisor, assists in the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of all company policies and SOP’s relating to food safety
  • Perform routine facility walkthroughs and internal audits. Communicate findings to Food Safety Supervisor
  • Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the facility and perform GMP audits
  • Under the direction of the food safety supervisor, collaborate with fulfillment center leaders regarding food safety concerns and performed necessary corrective actions where applicable
  • Maintains inventory of all food safety supplies
  • Monitors and records temperatures throughout the facility
  • Actively monitors food recalls and updates recall database
  • Under the direction of the food safety supervisor, audit and monitor pest control program
  • Responsible for environmental swabbing, ATP swabbing, and swabbing of equipment post cleaning and sanitizing
  • In collaboration with the sanitation team, will assist in the oversite of the Master Sanitation Schedule


  • High School Diploma and 2-3 years of related experience. In lieu of experience, candidate must be able to acquire specific Training/Certification in Food Safety within the first year of employment.
  • Individual must be safety minded having a good safety record, and be self-motivated.
  • Computer skills in developing reports, spreadsheets, and graphics are necessary to fully organize and communicate the level of food safety focus needed for this job.
  • Proficient in word, excel, powerpoint

Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be willing and able to work in a refrigerated environment (10°-40°)
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be willing and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach with or without reasonable accommodation
