We’re
seeking an outstanding entry level Food Safety Representative for
Blueberries and Blackberries to become a part of the Food Safety Team!
Must have at least two years of Food Safety and Compliance
experience and have an A.A. Degree or Bachelor's Degree.
As a Food Safety Representative you will help with the implementation of
Good Agricultural and Good Harvesting Practices among our growing and
harvesting operations, and also ensure that packing houses and
distribution centers follow Good Manufacturing Practices. This
position works closely with Production, Field Operations, Receiving,
Shipping, Inventory, and Maintenance departments to manage the daily
production environment.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
|
|
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare growers for third
party audits.
- Coordinates third party audit
schedules for facilities and fields, and ensures that company
representatives are available and prepared to conduct the audits.
- Coordinates and prepares the
company audit response and corrective action plans within the
required time frame.
- Perform verification of GAPs
and GMPs by conducting regular field and facility inspections
- Conduct internal GAP and GMP
audits
- Ensure all company food
safety policies and SOPs are being followed
- Conduct mock recalls
- Effectively train and
communicate food safety policies to all company employees and
growers
- Maintain necessary compliance
paperwork related to food safety programs
- Ensure routine equipment
swabbing and analyze results
- Sample and coordinate water
and field product samples
- Accompany customers and 3rd
party auditors on field audits and inspections
- Attend meetings, industry
events, and continuing education classes
- Maintain updated food safety
certification for all growing regions
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of food safety and
sanitation
- Knowledge of Hazard Analysis
Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles
- Knowledge of Food Safety
Modernization Act (FSMA)
- Minimum of 1-2 years of
experience in food safety
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to travel and
seasonally relocate (May-August) to our various job locations in
Oregon, Washington and British Colombia, Canada.
- Ability to lift heavy
objects: 20-30 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in
computer applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and
Statistical software. Experience in Data Management and Data Entry.
- Ability to work both
collaboratively and independently
- Detail oriented and able to
follow through on tasks
- Ability to work 45-50 hours
per week (including Saturdays) during blueberry season
- Bilingual: English/Spanish or
Punjabi is a plus
- Ability to multitask

thinker
- Ability to create and
implement a schedule
