Purpose of Role

The Acceleration Technologist will support the delivery of technical projects in the dry acceleration pipeline that contribute to global growth by deploying brand strategic projects to the regions.  They will work closely with the R&D Acceleration Scientists to support lead/follower regions in the roll out of new innovations and to update knowledge transfer and documentation to facilitate the roll out to additional regions. They will be a key link between the GIC and the RDTs and will partner with lead regions to prove the deployment strategy and then accelerate the roll-out of best practices across the globe.

 

Principal Accountabilities

·         Accountable for delivering operational objectives of projects or sub projects within the Dry GIC Acceleration teams.

·         Accountable for the tracking of deployment of global best practices

·         Accountable for the preparation of import and export certification and transportation for international samples (with support from commercial) for Global and Regional R&D teams.

·         Accountable for the storage and management of Global Innovation samples as required.

·         Accountable to engage with the Regional R&D Hub teams to facilitate transfer and deployment of best practices.

·         Accountable to support the generation of codified technical insights, deployment manuals and deployment learning in best practice knowledge management systems.

·         Accountable to provide high quality formal and informal communication on progress of projects.

 

The job holder will be responsible for supporting the Acceleration Scientist in the delivery of projects with support from their line manager and key customers.  Projects are unlikely to have obvious solutions, so the job holder is expected to use problem-solving tools to identify the best in class design solutions for the business. Projects will be part of the three year Global innovation pipeline, with the majority of projects or sub projects will have a lifespan up to 18 months. 

 

The job holder will be responsible for tracking global deployment metrics for the GIC projects.  A key element of the role will be to ensure the knowledge is translated into technical transfer dossiers.  A further output will be the generation and roll out of training material for key customers in RDC’s.

 

Most interfaces will be within the GIC, however other function activities will include:  Product Science & Design (PSD), Regional Product Development, Process and Pack teams, Brand Board Technical Representatives and Global engineering.

 

Interfaces with Commercial, Supply and S&F will typically be done through the lead region technical interfaces.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Degree in biological / life / food sciences or equivalent, or, professional qualification in a relevant industrial technical discipline (i.e. Engineering, Food Technology, etc)

 

Knowledge and Experience

 

Must speak excellent English.

Ability to use software programs (eg. excel, powerpoint, word) .

A good understanding of dog and cat food manufacturing or similar industry.

Proven ability to transfer technical knowledge and skills

Excellent communication capability.

Successful experience at working across cultures and track record in collaborative relationships

1- 3 years relevant experience, preferably in an R&D role.
