Center for Chemical Regulation & Food Safety specializes in high-quality, creative, and practical solutions to problems that affect our clients' ability to conduct business globally. Our experienced staff includes both technical and regulatory consultants who are experienced in dealing with pesticide and non-pesticide products including conventional chemicals, biochemicals, microbials, antimicrobials, consumer products, products of biotechnology, and with foods, food ingredients, and nutrition.

We are currently recruiting for a Public Health Nutrition Scientist with industry or academic experience for a position in our Washington, DC office. The successful candidate will utilize their education, experience and skills related to Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Public Health Nutrition Research. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with conducting epidemiological analyses and systematic reviews of relevant literature.  The candidate will be able to work independently and as a team member for complex technical and regulatory projects related to food safety and nutrition. Additional responsibilities will include providing technical peer review, supporting interdisciplinary teams on a wide-range of nutrition and food safety-related topics, and establishing a network of contacts for purposes of business development. This position offers significant opportunities for professional growth.  The candidate must be a motivated self-starter with demonstrated technical ability.

Qualifications for this position include:

        M.S. or Ph.D. with a concentration in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Nutrition, Food Science, or related sciences

        1-5 years of relevant experience

        Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous scientific reviews of epidemiological literature and present results effectively

        Ability to analyze nutrition and food-safety epidemiological data and provide interpretation

        Experience in statistical and regression tools in analyzing epidemiological data

        Publication record based on research in a relevant discipline

        Strategic thinker with strong quantitative skills (statistical analysis, modeling)

        Intellectual ability and comfort to work with and communicate effectively with non-scientists

        Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and statistical software programs (e.g., STATA, SAS)

        Excellent oral and written communication skills

        Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments under rigid time constraints

        Ability to collaborate with diverse colleagues and participate effectively in team projects is essential
