Quality Assurance Manager
Peacock Engineering - Geneva, IL

 

I. POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining compliance to customer specifications, Company standards, food safety standards, HACCP, GMP's and regulatory requirements. Provide leadership and maintain support for all quality assurance responsibilities.

II. Essential Functions

A. Assign coverage and responsibility for food safety and quality to QA supervisors/QA assistant supervisors during absence
B. Performs agency and customer compliance audits
C. Preparation and implementation of operations and QA standard operating procedures (SOP's)
D. Investigates and resolves quality issues relating to supplier goods
E. Implementation and maintain a Plant Quality Assurance Program
F. In-process/finished goods monitoring programs
G. Training Programs for food safety, GMP's and regulatory
H. Primary contact and communication for customers and suppliers for all quality, food safety and regulatory issues.
I. Manages employees in the Quality Assurance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and developing employees; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

III. Work Environment & Physical Demands

Workplace venues are multi-shift operations that are noisy and can be very cold or very warm.
In addition, some locations are expansive and may be multi-levels.

IV. Education, Experience & Required Skills

Undergraduate degree (Bachelor's degree B. A.) from four-year college or university or one to five years related experience and/or training or equivalent (combination of education and experience).
