THE ROLE          

LUVO is seeking a self-motivated individual with strong Food Regulatory, Labeling and Compliance expertise who will enhance the existing Technical team by maintaining viability and integrity of existing and new LUVO marketed products. Under the direction of the QA Manager (Corporate), this position will be responsible for assuring all internal and external generated documentation and labels are compliant to FDA, USDA and Canadian Regulations.

BY DAY, THE Food Regulatory Documentation Specialist WILL:

  • The primary responsibility is to create audit criteria, review and verify compliance to Regulatory and Corporate LUVO standards and policies
  • Ability to participate in cross functional teams within LUVO Corporate and Co- Manufacturers providing technical guidance and responses on labeling , displays, sell sheets, documentation and website
  • Ability to represent the Company needs professionally when dealing with vendors and contract manufacturers, and develop network with partners in Regulatory, Legal and Certification bodies
  • Assist Corporate QA in the identification and development of resolutions to strategic and tactical regulatory issues relating to labeling and compliance
  • Experience in attaining Organic, Gluten free and non-GMO certifications, in addition to having an interest in sustainable process development is an asset.
  • Hands on capability to audit nutritional software database programs like Genesis
  • Support new product set up both internally and externally with co-manufacturing facilities, previous experience with ERP systems an asset
  • Perform follow-up activities associated with product quality customer complaints to ensure appropriate corrective action is initiated and Company brand integrity maintained.
  • Technical writing and development of programs in addition to providing comprehensive report findings and solutions to the Corporate QA Manager in a timely manner.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of current and trending in Compliance and Regulatory developments

AND YOU…

  • Share our passion for transforming our world through food with your “everything is possible” attitude
  • Have a BS degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology or related technical field
  • Posses a minimum 3 – 4 years of demonstrated expertise with regulatory agencies especially USDA, FDA and Canadian labeling
  • Have a strong knowledge and understanding of GFSI based Auditing systems, Organic, nonGMO, Gluten free processes and requirements
  • Experience with co-manufacturing is an asset

SPECIALIZED SKILLS:

  • Superior ability to prioritize; be flexible; work on cross functional teams and take initiative by being a self-starter, proactive with decision making, planning and organizing
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Customer focus with strong negotiating skills
  • Computer Literate
