Document Control Specialist - Bridgetown Natural Foods - Portland, OR
The Document Control Specialist provides oversight and review of the production and quality documentation processes. The position is responsible for the release of Finished Goods. The Document Control Specialist will send finished goods for micro testing. The Document Control Specialist has a full understanding of our SQF, GMPís, SOPís and HACCP plans. Reports all document processes to the Quality Supervisor.
∑ Document Control Responsible for adherence to quality policies as they relate to Hold and Release
o Responsible for the schedule of document reviews and maintaining Document Register accuracy
o Timely distribution of latest revision level documentation to all appropriate users and ensure that obsolete documentation is removed from distribution
o Monitor completion and archive production paperwork in a timely manner
o Complete Finished Good COAs with accurate information from Quality Paperwork and outside lab results reports in a professional format for customer communications
o Update inventory to reflect Hold or Release status in a reasonable time frame.
o Provide continuous improvement of Document Control processes/procedures in accordance with department and company goals
∑ Be a partner with all departments
o Approve incoming COAs, update Register of Raw Materials with vendor specifications
o Train employees on correct form completion as needed
o Additional micro testing of ingredients
o Back- up and support for monthly inventory
∑ Assist with Identity Preserved Foods and Food Safety programs
o Back-up and support Kosher, Organic and Gluten Free Programs.
o Assist with SQF documentation and recordkeeping
∑ Other duties and projects as may be assigned
Experience and clear understanding of the US FDA Good Manufacturing Practices and SQF Ė GFSI is preferred, though experience in related industries may be sufficient. Experience with Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word.† Candidate must possess excellent attention to detail, communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. Schedule generally follows office hours, however occasional weekend or overtime will be required. †Commitment to steadily improving the organization and creating an outstanding performance-based work environment is required.†
This position starts at $14.00 per hour.
