Laboratory Technician, Food Manufacturing

$14 an hour

Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm plus mandatory overtime as required

Job Summary

The primary role of the Laboratory Technician is to perform all required tests and analyses in a precise manner meeting all food safety, customer quality, and worker safety requirements.

Responsibilities

1) Perform general laboratory tests

2) Pull product for analysis

3) Operate and calibrate lab tech equipment as trained and specified

4) Ensure accurate record keeping of performed testing and recording charts are properly documented according to company and regulatory agencies

5) Maintain cooperative working relationships and communications with employees from all other departments

6) Obtain and maintain certifications and licenses that are required

7) All other duties as assigned

Requirements

1) Must have an Associate’s Degree in a Science concentration with 2+ years of related experience. HACCP certification a plus

2) Excellent oral and written skills

3) Proficient in relevant math skills

4) Follow Yancey's Fancy GMPs and work consistent with all food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Physical Requirements

1) Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, reach, grab, push, pull and carry up to 40 lbs

2) Must be able to handle varying temperatures per department between 35 and 80+ degrees

Salary: $14.00 /hour
