Quality Control Specialist

Job Description

Farmer Brothers has an excellent opportunity for a Quality Control Specialist assists the QA Manager in the oversight of quality programs to assure quality standards and regulatory requirements are met. This person will work under the QA Manager’s supervision with other department managers to continually look for ways to improve our Quality Control programs and procedures.
 
Responsibilities:
•    Provide technical assistance to Production, Purchasing, Marketing, and Sales
•    Assist in training of employees in policies and procedures
•    Understand and assist in maintaining vendor certification requirements
•    Assist in the maintenance of product and material specifications
•    Record keeping of product analysis results, facility inspections, critical control points, sanitation, etc.
•    Review existing documentation and standard operating procedures upon change, ensuring changes to food safety plan and fundamentals are validated
•    Complies with Safe Quality Food 2000 Code (SQF 2000 Code)
•    Demonstrate professionalism and dedication towards company
•    Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager

Job Requirements

Requirements
•      2-5 years of related experience required
•      Experience in writing and reviewing processes and auditing requirements.
•      Able to learn and understand FDA, SQF, HACCP, Organic and Kosher requirements
•      Computer software proficiency in Excel and Access, as well as the ability to learn additional onsite programs
•      Good mathematical skills required
•      Team oriented problem solver who takes ownership of their work
•      Self-motivated individual
•      Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•      Safety conscious and excellent interpersonal skills
•      High School diploma or equivalent

The successful candidate will be required to complete a background check (including, but not limited to, employment verification, criminal history check and education verification), and a pre-employment drug screen.
