Job Summary:

The position available is for Food Safety Manager for our farm. The Food Safety Manager will ensure Borzynskiís compliance with all food safety regulations, customer requirements and company standards. The Food Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, administering and maintaining applicable food safety programs and policies; implementation and continuous improvement of food safety focused programs including but not limited to GAP, GMP and HACCP.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Evaluating/creating/auditing all programs and policies as needed for full GFSI certification
  • Ensure facility compliance to any legal requirements and other applicable regulations related to food safety
  • Conduct Food Safety Audits with third party inspectors, government agencies and customer inspector auditors
  • Perform internal quality audits in the facility and implement corrective actions based on audit results
  • Responsible for all food safety document control
  • Responsible for coordinating and documenting all food safety training
  • Act as a recall manager
  • Develop, review and update standard operating procedures
  • Provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues and customers
  • Facilitate a work environment that supports a safe and healthy culture


  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Food Safety
  • Preferred BS degree in Food Science, although not required
  • Expert knowledge of GFSI certification schemes
  • Working knowledge of state and federal occupational safety, health, and food safety laws and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizations skills
  • Ability to take control of situations and follow them through to a successful end result
  • Must be flexible and able to juggle multiple competing projects
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with all levels of management and peers
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
  • HACCP Certified

Work Schedule:

Minimum forty hours per week which may include weekends. Must have open availability any day of the week. Work will be performed on farm and packing house settings. Must be willing and able to travel to our farms located in Illinois, Georgia and Texas.
