organized Food Scientist who can excercise
decision making skills and time management.
- Study methods to improve aspects
of foods, such as chemical composition, flavor, color, texture,
nutritional value, and convenience.
- Stay up-to-date on new
regulations and current events regarding food science by reviewing FDA
and USDA regulations.
- Create new products for
flavor, texture, color, nutritional content, and adherence to FDA and
USDA standards and regulations.
- Duplicate competitive
seasonings for flavor, texture, color, nutritional content, and
adherence to FDA and USDA standards and regulations.
- Utilizes knowledge of current
regulations, product formulation, supplier specifications, customer
requirements and Company standards to develop and update finished
product ingredient statements and nutritional documents as defined by
FDA and USDA.
- Independently initiates,
investigates, and implements significant new process improvements, and
cost savings projects.
- Provide sourcing information
- Coordinate with the Quality
Department to comply with HACCP and Food Safety Program
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelorís or Masterís degree
in Food Science or related field with relevant 2+ yearsí work
experience in seasonings, spices, processed foods, sausage or meat
snacks industry preferred
- Knowledge of product
specifications, nutrition and labeling for finished products and
- Proven ability to apply food
science and food engineering principles to solve problems
- Strong computer skills,
- Ability to effectively
communicate and interact when working with cross-functional teams
- Well organized with the
ability to prioritize projects and adapt to changing deadlines
- Ability to take initiative
and work independently
