Scope: We are seeking a highly motivated bakery technologist and a team player to join the RDA department. The successful candidate should be passionate about conducting bakery science research in the areas of sweet baked goods and bakery ingredient functionalities and interactions.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education: A Bachelor's degree in BS degree in Bakery Science, Food Science, Cereal Chemistry, or related fields. AIB, CMB, or technical training a plus.

 

Experience: Requires 1 to 2 years of technical experience/development work. An understanding of the principles of food science and/or bakery science, food ingredient functionalities, and the development and the corresponding analytical techniques are desired.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist and execute bakery and non-bakery projects to develop new and improved products to address the needs of our customers
  • Under general supervision, work on moderately complex projects
  • Report/discuss work status and other critical information with peers and R&D management
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to develop project objectives
  • Facilitate prototype development and participate in the conception and development of new prototypes
  • Establish and document specifications for new products based on lab development and plant trials
  • Be flexible in taking additional tasks as needed to support company's business goals
  • Assist in maintaining a lab environment that is clean, organized, and work ready
  • Cultivate a team atmosphere with peer groups and upper management

 

Competences:

 

  • Possess basic formulation and industrial processing knowledge relating to baking
  • Able to take direction and work independently to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
  • Ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences concerning technical and business needs with strong verbal and written communication
  • Possess a general understanding of bake lab analytical equipment
  • Have strong problem solving skills
  • Capable of self-management and multiple project/task management
  • Self-starting attitude
  • Career oriented, willing to learn, and always seeking self-betterment
  • Good knowledge of product development process and methodologies
