Reporting to the Quality Director, this position manages, trains, organizes and directs quality control
personnel in all phases of QC process. Ensures that the manufactured
products conform to defined product quality standards, as well as Federal,
State and local standards of product identity, safety and GMPs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages adherence to GMPs
with emphasis on sanitation
- Maintains master sanitation
schedule to ensure compliance
- Ensures that proper GMP and
housekeeping procedures are followed plant wide
- Works closely with management
and production personnel on sanitation issues, recommending changes to
improve sanitation policies, procedures and standards
- Manages plant environmental
- Works with chemical supplier
on chemical system and sanitation improvements
- Works closely with pest
- Ensures plant readiness for
- Ensure plant training in
HACCP, Food Safety, Food Defense, GMPs and Hygiene, Allergens, etc.
- Documents and maintains
training registry for all employees at the manufacturing site.
- Manages Hold and Complaint
- Maintains HACCP program
- Conducts internal audits
Action-Preventative Action reporting, root cause Analysis, Risk
- Responsible for reporting and
taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality
problems from occurring.
- Trend reporting
- Associate's Degree required.
- Food processing experience,
with at least 5 years in a quality control capacity within a
manufacturing environment under HACCP, USDA and/or FDA.
- Previous experience with Safe
Quality Foods or SQF Expert Practitioner is a plus.
- HACCP certificate
- Able to work with cross
functional departments within the organization
- Good problem solving and
corrective action/resolution skills
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent communication
skills. Bilingual in Spanish is required.
