General Summary:

This person will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of project initiatives for the Campbell's Fresh division. This includes product development from concept through commercialization. The role requires collaboration and partnership with internal technical groups, marketing, and supply chain to bring technical solutions forward to meet customer needs. The work involves multiple product formats including soups, sauces, and entrees targeted to a diverse customer base.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Manage product development projects from concept to commercialization based on customer need.
  • Collaborate with all necessary cross functional partners including R&D, supply chain and finance to identify, assess and implement initiatives and drive growth.
  • Work with sales and marketing to understand key customer and consumer needs and provide product solutions through collaborative partnerships.

Job Complexity:

  • Build multiple prototypes to identify winning formulation.  Conduct trials in the pilot plant or manufacturing facilities to access for feasibility of production and customer acceptability.
  • Develop or renovate products within the budget and nutritional constraints while striving for highest quality product.
  • Identify and communicate potential product constraints or risks and problem solve for solutions.
  • Work with supply chain to identify internal and external manufacture needs.
  • Understand customer and consumer needs and use that knowledge to drive 'winning' product executions.
  • Balance multiple project initiatives simultaneously and be flexible to changing directions.
  • Develop awareness of industry developments and pursue ingredient, product or technology advances for application to new and innovative product initiatives.
  • Participate in customer facing meetings/presentations.

Minimum Requirements:

         Bachelor's of Science degree required, Food Science, Chemistry, or Biology discipline preferred; Culinary a plus

         Minimum of 2 years relevant experience required; Food industry experience preferred

Knowledge, skills, and abilities preferred:

  • Excellent communication skills  - oral, written, presentation.
  • Demonstrated skills in commercializing products/process in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player and builds effective working relationship at all levels.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and seek creative solutions.
  • Travel required (up to 30%)

Work Conditions:

Work environment includes office, kitchen, pilot plant and manufacturing locations.

Must be available to travel to various customers and production facilities.
