The Food Safety and Quality Coordinator Assistant will provide technical and administrative assistance for Restaurant Depot’s Food Safety and Quality Assurance Program - Midwest Region. Located in our Midwest corporate office in Chicago, Illinois you will focus on scheduling of product testing, recall/product removal coordination, monitoring of TTR devices, maintenance of employee certifications, research on regulatory requirements, and food safety policies. Role objectives:

  • Conduct or schedule and follow up on product testing
  • Facilitate product recalls & product withdrawals
  • Facilitate and track employee certifications
  • Monitor TTR device reports
  • Assist in training and presentations
  • Assist in the promotion and development of our Keep it Kool!® Program
  • Assist in communications with regulatory officials (FDA, USDA, etc.) to ensure company food safety and quality policies are in-line with regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with corporate food safety/HACCP team to develop, update and implement policies
  • Attend relevant conferences and seminars to keep up-to-date with current developments in food safety and quality both in industry and regulatory
  • File and organize job materials

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams
  • Focus and attention to details
  • Currently hold HACCP certification or be willing and able to certify on the job
  • Preferred: Recent graduates in Food Safety or a related field with knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and food regulations
  • Preferred: Relevant work experience in a role of Food Safety/Quality Assurance
