The Global Enhanced
Hydration R&D group is searching for an experienced, creative, and
highly-organized Sr. Scientist to serve as an R&D Innovation Lead. The
incumbent will have two key responsibilities:
- Serve as Technical Program Lead
(Product Development, Packaging, Regulatory and Food Service Equipment)
with objective of managing all global innovation projects in partnership
with Global marketing
- Serve as a key R&D contact
responsible for planning and executing all product development
This role will provide
technical leadership and expertise in TCCC’s technical community, and will be
responsible for substantial contact and involvement with internal business
partners in addition to external customers. The individual will build and
deliver Global Innovation projects which drive innovation that are scalable
to multiple geographies, taking consumer needs and insights, Business Unit
(BU) specific needs, local competition and other global/local relevant
aspects into consideration to optimize innovation expansion. He/she will lead
the development and implementation of a strategic plan that sets a strong
R&D direction. The incumbent must have strong ability to recommend and
influence executive-level decisions.
The Technical R&D
Lead role is new and the accountable leader will
need to establish the Global innovation priority including: strategic link,
technology pipeline, ways to operate within R&D, and needed connections
with Marketing/BU’s. The incumbent must secure prioritization and allocation
of resources needed to execute the initiatives supporting Global Innovation
Priority, across Technical, Marketing, and BU Commercialization.
This position will be
located in New York City (NY). Travel will fluctuate and is projected at maximum
of 30% of time. Overnight and extended travel is required to cover global
ACTIVITIES & TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Drive a Sustainable 1-5 year
Global Innovation Pipeline: accountable for understanding consumers’
expectations for today and the future and applying to build an robust
innovation pipeline that is focused on Business needs.
- Provide technical input to Marketing
team to help shape project requirements and prepare project plans for
approval, prioritization and allocation of technical resources.
Identifies key technical hurdles and deliverables.
- Provide Technical Leadership
coordinating work across Product, Package, Regulatory and Food Service
Equipment to deliver projects on time, at target cost and with the right
quality. This includes planning, organizing and executing technical
activities to support business growth and continuity.
- Foster R&D Integration across
geographies: simultaneously integrate the development of R&D
innovation platform for Top Global Innovation priorities across all
regional R&D Centers (New York city, Mexico
city, Shanghai/Tokyo, and Brussels).
- Independently create fully
developed technical plans, including resource requirements and risk
- Responsible for conducting,
planning, organizing and executing new product development activities to
support business growth and continuity. Designs, tests and execute
activities/processes to ensure that all cycles of product development
process are executed successfully and on time.
- Identifies, evaluates and
selects new ingredients, developments, trends & technologies in food
and beverage industry to guide product development initiatives. Partners
with internal and external parties to stay abreast of our consumer’s
needs and identifies actions plans to address those needs. Drives and
leverages internal and external suppliers to deliver ingredient and

management skills with proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple,
- An advanced degree (M.S. or
Ph.D.) in chemical engineering, food engineering, food science, or a
related field is preferred. Additional Business expertise (MBA) a
- Minimum ten years’ experience
developing and launching products (global beverage or food company
experience preferred). Other rich, relevant R&D experience will
also be considered.
- Demonstrated leadership and
team building competencies; strong project management and complex
problem solving abilities; excellent communication, human relations,
and people management skills; and the ability to be self-directed,
forward thinking, and make complex decisions that drive business
innovation and performance.
- Extensive knowledge of
flavors, food ingredients, processing, packaging, nutrition, stability
testing amongst other skills are important to the success of this role.
