Cargill Salt is seeking a Regional Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory (FSQR) Manager. This role will be responsible for leading FSQR staff and overseeing FSQR processes across multiple Salt locations including: developing and implementing FSQR policies, continuous improvement of FSQR processes and systems, shaping multiple locations’ food safety culture and leading talent management practices. Key member of the Business Unit FSQR leadership team.
This is a remote position and can be located anywhere within the U.S.
30% Builds and develops an effective, competent and engaged workforce in the business FSQR organization. Manage, lead, coach, and develop Facility FSQR Managers / Specialists. Encourages collaboration between peers, functions and other Cargill businesses.
25% Analyzes, reviews and interprets FSQR policies, regulations, customer complaints and supplier performance for multiple locations. Develops and leads implementation of business strategy to ensure a highly engaged FSQR workforce and great customer experience.
20% Acts as a liaison between customer and plant operations to ensure the customers’ quality standards and expectations are met. Lead collaboration efforts between facilities for common issues in order to drive harmonization of FSQR processes.
15% Proactively identifies and anticipates potential risk and takes action to prevent food safety/quality issues across multiple locations and ensure that key learning's are captured and shared across the business.
5% Participate in facilities’ Food Safety Systems Certification (FSSC) audit process and management review process in order drive continuous improvement and maintain FSSC certification.
5% Interfaces with Managers and Directors within the Business Unit and represents FSQR on cross functional teams to ensure clear understanding of FSQR policies and procedures. Act as an information resource for internal/external customer inquiries. Develops and implements a short range (tactical) and long term (strategic) FSQR business plan in alignment with business and enterprise strategic initiatives.
· 4-year degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Business and Food Safety & Quality.
· 5 or more years experience in food safety, quality, regulatory compliance or plant operations.
· Demonstrated success in leading others - leads by holding self and others accountable; motivates for high performance; creates an environment conducive to team work.
· Strong listening skills; written and verbal communication skills.
· Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
· Demonstrated continuous improvement skills.
· Food Safety/HACCP training and experience developing a HACCP plan.
· Strong customer focus and partnership skills.
· Ability to travel 30%.
· Experience in direct supervision of others at multiple facilities.
· Project Management experience.
· Regulatory compliance experience.
· FSSC experience.
