SUMMARY: This includes overseeing all stages of product and process development and control, reviewing and approving nutritional data for print, writing new product specifications, and enforcing all USDA labeling regulations. Other responsibilities include developing samples/prototypes of new products, modifying existing products, developing specifications for product production labeling, and compiling cost analysis information. Other duties include working with Sales, Marketing, and Quality Assurance departments, coordinating with suppliers of ingredients, ensuring smooth start-up for new product production processes, and completing other special projects as needed.


Education: Preferably a broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field, normally acquired through a Bachelor's degree in an academic field directly related and essential to the job.

Experience: 1+ years related experience. (No experience required with MS or Ph.D.)

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills such as generating simple letters, spreadsheets, and creating simple queries is a plus.

Travel: 6+ trips per year.

Supervisory Skills: This position may be responsible for supervising support staff.

POSITION REPORTS TO: Project Leader-Research & Development

Prefer individual with strong food science education or experience with broad knowledge of ingredients and food technology.
