Press - March 30, 2009 4:05 PM ET TULSA, Okla. (AP) - The
Country Cottage restaurant in Locust Grove is being sued by a couple who
claim an E. coli outbreak there last summer caused 1 of them to become
seriously ill. Donna and Jim Crafton say
Donna ate at the restaurant on Aug. 25 and suffered severe physical harm and
extreme mental suffering from eating the food. Tulsa attorney Frank
Frasier says the woman became sick after eating at the restaurant and has a
substantial number of medical bills. A spokeswoman for the
restaurant owners could not immediately comment on the lawsuit. The lawsuit is believed to
be the first filed against the restaurant in connection with the August
outbreak that killed one man and sickened hundreds more. It became the
largest in the nation's history for the rare E. coli O111 strain. Investigators still have
not pinpointed the source of the contamination. |
