in Saskatchewan, Ontario and Quebec have approved a Canada-wide
settlement of up to $27 million providing financial compensation for
people who purchased or consumed meat products recalled by Maple Leaf
Foods during last summer's listeriosis outbreak that killed 21 people.
Compensation ranging from $750 to $125,000 is available to those who
purchased or consumed recalled products produced by Maple Leaf during
the period Jan. 1, 2008, to Aug. 31, 2008. Additional details are

Maple Leaf initially confirmed the settlement, which was subject to
court approval, last December.
