The Columbus division of the Kroger Co. has created a food-safety hot line in partnership with Ohio State University and the Center for Innovative Food Technology.

Ohio residents may call 800-752-2751 (toll-free in Ohio) with questions about safe food handling and preparation from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Kroger has provided funding for the initiative through its Food Safety Awareness campaign. Ohio State students in its food science and technology and human nutrition departments will staff the hot line.
