SUMMARY: Support all aspects of product development for salty and seasoned snacks

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under limited supervision, the holder of this position researches, conducts experiments, gathers data, and communicates results for the development of new products beginning with samples requisition through successful commercialization. They select appropriate methods, and procedures for testing, and also collaborate to establish project timelines, create technical proposals, and make recommendations. This person documents all specifications defining new products commercialized.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to

 

In all cases, work safely and assure the safety of others, including the safe handling and consumption of samples.

 

Work with sales and marketing to define prototype samples requirements.

 

Create bench prototypes based on approved product concepts.

 

Formulate new products to match desired nutritional profile and product attributes of the target product.

 

Develop and document the process for the manufacture of the new product.

 

Conduct scale up plant trials and new product start-ups independently.

 

Document finished product and processing specifications.

 

Supervise technicians in a team collaborative manner.

 

Perform ingredient research and selection.

 

Conduct stability and other necessary studies.

 

Work with Quality Assurance to preclude problems.

Maintain proper record keeping with regards to all responsibilities.

 

Assure neatness and orderliness of lab through example.

 

 


REQUIREMENTS:

 

BS in Food Science or related field

 

1-3 years food manufacturing experience in Quality Control or Product Development

 

Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

 

Ability to travel independently and responsibly to other facilities
