Quality Department Manager
Director, Canned Food Safety & Quality Systems
Hourly position interpreting and implementing food safety standards in canning
facility of 100+ employees. Conducts audits to evaluate facility, processes and
products for food safety, and recommends methods of correction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
operational standards, HACCP, sanitary regulations, and good manufacturing
with plant management to assist and lead them through independent
third-party food safety audits.
internal audits to evaluate the safety of our products.
Good Manufacturing Practices program by conducting semi-monthly GMP
inspections and follows up on noted deficiencies. Trains all personnel in
GMP, and keeps appropriate records.
management team meetings on weekly basis.
potential hazards or product contamination points and recommends solution
to improve safety.
and recommends procedures for detection, prevention, and elimination of
physical, clerical, or other product hazards.
customer complaints and investigates to find root cause.
operations and confers with technical or administrative staff to resolve
production or processing problem.
all activities with pest control operations.
training material and delivers material to subordinate.
the company in all third-party audits of our food safety system.
duties as assigned.
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college
or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
of inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control, costs, and
techniques for maximizing the manufacture and distribution of goods.
of agricultural operations and techniques for growing and harvesting food.
grading and inspection skills for all products canned at facility.
ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
The ability to communicate effectively.
ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of
Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft Access; Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
