FSIS Collecting Comments on Revised Laboratory Methods for Detecting E. coli

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is collecting comments on its revised laboratory methodology for detecting and identifying E. coli O157:H7 in regulatory verification samples. This new method, implemented January 28, 2008, can be found in the Microbiology Laboratory Guidebook (MLG), Chapter 5.04.

Comments may be submitted at wwww.regulations.gov. In the ”Search Documents'' box type the docket number, FSIS-2008-0007.  After accessing the docket, click on ``Send a Comment or Submission.''

Comments may also be submitted by mail, to Docket Clerk, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), FSIS, 1400 Independence Avenue, SW., Room 2534  South Building, Washington, DC 20250.

All submissions received must include the agency name and docket number FSIS-2008-0007.

All comments submitted in response to this notice will be posted to agency's Web site at http://www.fsis.usda.gov/regulations_&_policies/2008_Notices_Index/index.asp
