Job Description

Monarch Foods, a part of U.S. Foodservice, Inc. has one immediate openings based in Rosemont, IL for a Manager, Supplier FSQA in the Food Safety and Quality Assurance department.

The Manager, Supplier FSQA manages the quality and food safety risks of US Foodservice branded products to ensure that suppliers are adhering to US Foodservice product and safety specifications and expectations during production and transportation of the products.  

Job Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement a science-based, product monitoring program to ensure USF branded and labeled products meet all U.S. Foodservice product specifications and standards for safety and quality
    • Assist in developing product specification and information sheets for all U.S. Foodservice branded products
    • Manage communication and corrective action between supplier quality assurance and U.S. Foodservice on policies and procedures concerning quality and food safety as well as U.S. Foodservice’s response to suppliers for Third Party Food Safety Audits
    • Manage resolution, communication and follow-up of product quality/food safety complaints between suppliers and divisions/customers
    • Participate in USF branded supplier approval process
    • Provide technical expertise in quality and food safety to USF associates
    • Assist other departments in setting product quality standards as brand strategies change and meet company initiatives in the food safety and product quality areas


Job Requirements:

    • Candidates must have a have a four-year college degree in Food Science or other science-based curriculum and 5- 7 years related experience; Master’s degree preferred; Certification in HACCP is encouraged; SQF Certification a plus
    • Hands on product experience in any of the following product areas will be highly desirable, canned foods, Dairy, Fruits and Vegetables, Seafood, Poultry or Meat processing
    • Basic knowledge of microbiology and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), food allergens, thermal processing, product specification development, quality standards and grades, and HACCP  
    • Food Safety and GMP auditing experience required
    • The successful candidate will possess good interpersonal, communication and decision making skills and solid analytical and project management skills
    • The candidate should also be self motivated requiring little direction as well as possess good presentation skills and have the ability to work effectively in a team setting
    • Working knowledge Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word required
