From the November 2008 Issue

Source of Article:

Kansas State University researchers received a $939,220 grant from the USDA National Research Initiative in Food Safety to study the connection between distillers grains feed and the naturally occurring pathogen E. coli 0157:H7 in cattle. The researchers will study whether feeding varied amounts of distillers grains—dried or wet—has an effect on the prevalence of E. coli in cattle feces. The three-year study will begin in the summer of 2009, the season when the pathogen is typically most prevalent.
