Microbiological Food Safety Issues Before Us
Michael Doyle, Ph.D.

University of Georgia
Dr. Doyle is an international authority on foodborne bacterial pathogens,
including Escherichia coli O157:H7, Listeria monocytogenes,
Campylobacter jejuni, Salmonella, Clostridium botulinum,
and Yersinia enterocolitica. Dr. Doyle's research focuses on developing
methods for detecting and isolating bacterial pathogens in foods, identifying
the survival and growth characteristics of foodborne pathogens, defining
the ecology of foodborne pathogens, and identifying and characterizing
virulence factors and markers of foodborne pathogens. Dr. Doyle has done
considerable research on pathogens associated with meats, poultry and
dairy products and often serve as an advisor to the meat and dairy industry.
