The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Compliance Coordinator collaborates
with ingredient suppliers to Publix Manufacturing and co-manufacturers of
Publix store brand products. This includes verifying supplier food safety and
quality assurance (FSQA) compliance to Publix requirements and
specifications, conducting a detailed analysis and review of supplier FSQA
records. Serving as an internal support to the Supply Chain FSQA Manager, the
incumbent is highly engaged with the Quality Assurance (QA) Managers at all
Publix Manufacturing facilities and maintains strong relationships with food
safety certification program owners, regulatory authorities, and related
groups that promote food safety and quality assurance. The Food Safety and
Quality Assurance Compliance Coordinator reports to the Food Safety and
Quality Assurance Manager, Supply Chain.
Additional responsibilities include:
- developing
and maintaining systems that support Publix food safety and quality
assurance
- implementing
a regulatory compliance review program to verify and analyze regulatory
reporting in place
- developing
and reporting on food safety and regularly compliance programs to ensure
clear and timely reporting related to food safety concerns
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Food Science, Microbiology or equivalent experience
- at
least five (5) years of experience in food safety and quality assurance
for products in a Retail, Manufacturing, and/or Corporate Quality
Assurance environment
- Preventive
Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) Certification, HACCP Certification,
and Food Protection Manager Certification – all obtainable within the
first year of employment.
