Job Purpose:
This role leads and manages Ice Cream BU QMP and Quality and
Food Safety for Distribution Centers (RDC) to ensure the implementation of
all applicable Mars Global Quality and Food Safety Standards and Regulatory
standards. The incumbent manages, improves & deploys throughout the
Distribution network, the Food Safety elements as defined in Mars Global
QMP's. This position is a critical enabler in the development of Ice Cream
Market Unit Quality policies and execution of QFS Standards compliance,
relevant processes, systems, procedures, and trainings to support the safe
and legal distribution of our products.
What we are looking for:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering or
related technical field
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a
technical area such as Quality & Food Safety, Warehousing &
Distribution, R&D product development, laboratory management quality
systems, and/or food process engineering
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
Preferred Requirements:
- Advanced degree in Chemistry, Food
Science, Food Safety, Engineering or related technical field
- 3+ years of Quality experience in a Food
manufacturing facility
- Auditor with accreditation in GFSI
Quality systems such as SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000, ISO9000
Key Responsibilities:
- Partners with Sr. Q&FS Manager to
develop and implement QFS strategy for QiD,
and works with cross-functional partners to execute and deliver on
commitments
- Coordinates and leads incident management
and investigation for RDCs. This responsibility includes initiation of
PRIMPs, on-going interpretation and reporting of information from our
consumers and customers, executes the business decision regarding
product disposition on non-confirming product and incidents which impact
food safety.
- Lead the deployment and compliance of the
Distribution Quality Management (DQM) standard and other relevant Mars
standards across the RDCs for our products and the service providers
- Partners with cross-functional associates
in Supply, Product Development, Packaging, Planning, IE, Logistics,
Commercial, Global Q&FS to understand business strategies, key
priorities, and drive the ice cream/frozen category agenda with the
various teams.
- Supports RDC site selection by assessing
quality capability and food safety systems performance. Coordinates with
the Physical Logistics Team to resolve site selection and audit concerns
- Reviews and develops period Metrics
Reporting, Audit program, Quality Systems, Product Disposition support,
Q&FS Training, and reviews feedback from the customers and consumers
pertinent to the RDC
- Provides direction and influence for the
development, implementation of CAPA and Continuous Improvement of all
programs related to RDC sites
- Supports BU in Recall and Traceability
activities pertaining to non-conforming product.
