JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT


The Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Regional Pet Food Lead is a critical member of the Animal Nutrition and Health business and the Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory leadership team, responsible to provide Food Safety Quality and Regulatory leadership for a group of plants in North America. The ideal leader will possess a well-honed ability to build trust and respect with stakeholders across country and with regional colleagues. To achieve this, you will have demonstrated strong influencing and change management skills in creating alignment on strategy and processes, as well as being a compelling communicator.

 


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


Lead talent management, performance management and leadership development of Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory (FSQR) employees in the pet food business. Identify current and future resourcing needs and develop a talent pipeline with high performing, engaged talent.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, policies and procedures. Analyze, review, interpret and implement FSQR policies, procedures, including customer and supplier standards for alignment across the pet food business.

Lead by example to shape a culture of high performance. Build effective relationships with leadership and key stakeholders within the region to drive a food safety and quality culture.

Drive continuous improvement mindset across the pet food business.

Assist with the creation of strategic and tactical planning for the Animal Nutrition and Health business.
Perform prevention activities and issue resolution – Ensure connectivity and collaboration within the organization in the pet food business. Facilitate resolution to highly complex issues in the business.

Support the development of new FSQR processes/systems across the business. Provide input to business related to base/non-base capital needs to maintain food/feed/product safety standards.

Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.

Other duties as assigned

This position could be located in Wayzata, MN, Olathe, KS or a remote home-office location in the United States.

 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Minimum of four years of related work experience

Ability to travel up to 40%

Demonstrated experience in the areas of food safety, quality assurance and regulatory affairs



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Two years of supervisory experience

Demonstrated experience with Pet Food

Demonstrated experience with driving continuous improvement

Experience with GFSI food safety management systems, including SQF and FSSC 22000

Experience working within FDA regulations

Experience in a microbiologically sensitive environment, including environmental monitoring and finished product testing
