This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business,
where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of
customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and
exporters.
JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT
The Quality Improvement Lead will apply broad and deep scientific
understanding of quality assurance product processes across the business in
one or more specialty areas. In this role, you will provide direction on
testing and auditing process documentation, data collection and analysis, and
facilitating knowledge transfer. You will provide solutions to moderately
complex quality issues across the organization and within specific area of
expertise.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Build capabilities for quality assurance plans including
data analysis, running to target and other key aspects of the plans.
Lead the development of some large and complex quality assurance plans and
projects with a focus on driving capabilities and improvements, partnering
with operations managers to ensure successful implementations.
Conduct the moderately complex and broad analysis of food safety and quality
metrics to identify trends, best practices and areas of opportunity.
Provide consultation and direction to conduct organization readiness
assessments, value realization, opportunity prioritization, resource
evaluation and execute on continuous improvement strategies that align with
business strategies across multiple sites or locations.
Uses comprehensive knowledge and application of principles, concepts,
industry best practices and standards to research and develop continuous
improvement tools and methods.
Track and report the value creation and develops sustainment plans to ensure
sustainable results and ensure the stated values from projects are delivered.
Work with cross functional teams to develop training and competency
development for the organization and those implementing policies and
procedures.
Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited
direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or
problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a
strategic contributor.
Other duties as assigned
The preferred location for this position is Wichita, KS. However,
arrangements could be made for a remote home-office based environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of six years of related work experience
Ability to travel up to 30%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
