Full-time employment
- Work hours - Monday - Friday, 8:00 am -
4:00 pm with a 30 minute lunch
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position assists with the management and implementation of
the Bureau’s food programs including the Retail Food Facility program as it
relates to food facilities selling or serving food direct to consumers; the
Manufacturing Food Program as it relates to food processors/manufacturers,
home food processors, warehouses/distribution; the USDA Cooperative Program
as it relates to Shipping Point inspections, USDA Food Agriculture (GAP)/Good
Handling Practices (GHP)/Harmonized Food Safety Verification Audit Program
for fresh fruits and vegetables; and the State Egg Grading and Safety Program
as it relates to standards for egg grading and marketing, processing plant
sanitation inspections, and egg refrigeration requirements.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Qualifications:
- Must meet PA residency requirement – For

- Minimum Experience and Training
Requirements - Two years as a Food Inspector
2; OR Four years of experience in the inspection of
food establishments or food processing facilities, and a
bachelor's degree in food science, food technology, or a closely related
field; OR An equivalent combination of experience and
training.
- Necessary Special Requirement - Possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C
driver's license or equivalent.
