Full Job Description
Quality and Food Safety Manager - Chalfont, PA
This position leads the site Quality Assurance resources to assure the
on-going production of high quality and safe products that comply with
product design specifications and meet or exceed customer and consumer
expectations and all relevant regulatory requirements. The position oversees
site quality for the veterinary medicinal products, water treatments and test
kits, and other aquatic consumables, producted
and/or warehoused and shipped from the CHA site, as well as the FDA regulated
quality activites within the lab. This position has
shared accountability to actively support research projects in raw and
packaging materials, product development and process improvement.
What are we looking for?
BS in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or related technical field, with
four years of experience in technical areas such as laboratory managment, quality management systems, processing
engineering and/or pharmaceutical operations.
- An advanced degree in Chemistry, Biology,
Engineering or related technical field is preferred.
- cGMP Lab Technical certification
preferred.
- Lean/Six Sigma Certification
- In-depth experience with laboratory
testing methodology and instrumentation.
- Integrated Sanitation and Pest Control
Management
- Basic understanding of veterinary medical
regulatory requirements and food regulations including AAFCO guidelines.
What would be your key responsibilities?
Manages all quality assurance functions for the site.
- Ensure adherence to the relevant Mars
Global quality standards.
- Partner with Commercial Manager to
support the development of effective External Manufacturing and Supplier
Quality Assurance programs that seamlessly integrate into the site's inbout material and finished goods and external
finished goods operating standards.
- Provides direction and influence for the
development, implementation, and continous
improvement of all quality systems as well as other aspects of the Fishcare supply chain.
- Assures that all products and packs
produced at the site meet specifiation and
conform to the intended product design. This includes being responsible
for actively and collaboratively supporting change mangement
and process improvement and supporting R&D's development of
Technical Specifications.
- Manages the internal quality audit
function for site and assures the effectiveness of the corrective and preventtive action process within the framework of
the site's and the BU's Quality Management Systems.
- Manage direct reports in the site to
assure skills maintenance and development, build clear succession
planning, manager daily attendance, and associate development plans.
Provide timely feedback on performance and provide training
opportunities which align with development plans.
